Last year, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products, Swissmedic, approved 41 medicines containing new active substances in the pharmaceutical field. With ten newly approved drugs, the field of cancer treatment (oncology) ranked first among new approvals.

Swissmedic announced on Monday that four more newly approved drugs enter the field of blood diseases (hematology). Other approvals include the fields of infectious diseases and vaccines, diagnostics, metabolic regulation, as well as rheumatology and immunology. According to the statement, the distribution of approvals according to application areas was comparable to last year.
