The company announced Monday that affected employees, particularly those at lower pay levels, will receive a flat pay increase of 1.7 percent. As was the case last year, this will reduce inflation.
There is also an average wage budget of 1.7 percent more per person for performance-based individual increases for all other employees subject to GAV. The decision is based on wage negotiations between Sunrise and the Syndicom union.
Finally, Sunrise said that individual wage increases and promotions are also possible for employees outside GAV.
Last November, the Telecom group announced layoffs. Following a consultation process with employee representatives and Syndicom, these were estimated at 166 positions, corresponding to approximately 6 per cent of the workforce.
Considering natural fluctuations, a total of 200 people will now be laid off. Layoffs were planned to take place in the second half of January. Sunrise said at the time that “management positions and functions without direct customer contact” were particularly affected. (SDA)
