Airbnb for camping enthusiasts: Swiss start-up Nomady is a booking platform with minibus parking, tent sites and cabins on private property. So far the bidding has been mainly across Switzerland. In the 2024 camping season, offers will become more international: Nomady is merging with German start-up My Cabin and will soon show users offers in Switzerland, Italy and France, as well as offers in Germany and Austria.
According to the company, all My Cabin offers will soon be available to book on the Nomady platform. The development team is working to integrate My Cabin best practices into the Nomady website.
Nomady app planned
An application is also planned, as well as an improved platform. “The offering will more than double and be of the same high quality as before,” Nomady co-founder Oliver Huber tells startupticker. MyCabin has more than 2,800 accommodations and is used by more than 100,000 users.
MyCabin name disappears
Nomady will remain under the same name in Switzerland and MyCabin will become Nomady Germany in Germany. The founders of both companies continue to play important roles in operational and strategic affairs. Nomady’s investors since 2022 are Migros subsidiary Sparrow Ventures and TCS.
