As the study shows, sustainable offices can be found especially in major markets such as Geneva and Zurich (almost 48 percent and 33 percent, respectively). In regions with limited supply, such as Bern and Zug, the proportion of sustainable installations is less than 15 percent.
There is also a difference by location: the share in city centers is only 6.5 percent, compared to the 30.8 percent share of sustainable offices across Switzerland.
The study recorded office space supply at the end of 2023. Office spaces in buildings that have received one or more certifications or have high sustainability standards were classified as sustainable.
