Both main business lines of the cooperative group contributed to growth. Retail sales, which Coop includes sales in all supermarkets, specialty stores and online shops, remained stable at 19.9 billion Swiss francs. However, excluding fuel, Coop recorded a 1.0 percent increase in retail.
If you look only at Coop supermarkets (including online store Coop.ch), you see that net revenue is 11.8 billion francs. This is 2.4 percent above the previous year’s figure. According to the report, Coop achieved double-digit growth with its own brand, Prix Garantie.
It rose by 3.8 percent to 16.3 billion francs in wholesale and production, which includes the Transgourmet Group operating across Europe as well as meat processor Bell and Coop’s own production facilities. Transgourmet alone generated 11.4 billion in net revenue.
Coop will not report last year’s profit until mid-February. (SDA/smt)
