The “Handelszeitung” job portal together with Jobs.ch shows which professional fields are in most demand this year. Based on this, compensation consulting company Kienbaum provided the average wage in the relevant professional field. Here we present the top ten departments and their corresponding average earnings:

Winners’ podium in professional fields

The biggest priority this year is reception or secretarial jobs. No wonder: Every company needs people to greet customers, suppliers, visitors, salespeople and even employees at the entrance. During the coronavirus outbreak, some people reduced staff numbers in this area, but now the front desk is experiencing a revival. Because human contact is still very important here. The job as a receptionist is paid 82,800 francs a year. The increase in wages in this professional field is remarkable: compared to last year, there is a huge increase of 6,200 francs.

This year, the second place is occupied by professions in the field of office work and language translation. This professional space is becoming increasingly valuable when companies have worldwide networks and teams work with each other remotely. Mixed functions in the areas of marketing, sales, accounting and human resources come together here. The average wage here is 86,900 francs; that is, 6,000 francs more than the previous year.

This year, the professional field of human resources and personnel development ranks third. A human resources specialist earns an average annual salary of 119,800 francs; This is almost 5,000 francs more than in 2022.
