Swiss sister company Edelweiss is increasing the number of flights on its short- and medium-haul network for next summer. And this is sometimes obvious; especially in Spain and Greece. There are also more flights during peak times such as weekends and spring break.
The flight program includes 64 destinations in 21 countries. Boa Vista in Cape Verde is no longer part of the summer flight schedule.
Spain, Greece and the north in focus
The strongest expansion is in Greece. There are more flights than before to Heraklion and Chania in Crete, as well as to Kos, Corfu, Santorini and Zakynthos. However, Edelweiss is reducing the number of flights to Mykonos.
The leisure airline is also significantly expanding its flights in Spain, with more flights to Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Mahon in the Balearic Islands and Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. On the other hand, there is one less flight per week to Jerez in Andalusia.
Significantly more emphasis is also given to the north of Europe. The (new) destinations of Edinburgh in Scotland, Newquay in Cornwall, England, and Tromsø and Evenes in Norway are being expanded. That’s why Edelweiss offers up to 23 flights per week to the north; This is a clear indication of the trend.
Stable program
Most other destinations will remain as they are in summer 2023. There are more flights to Antalya (Turkey), Bari (I), Keflavik (Iceland), Larnaca (Cyprus) and Ohrid (North Macedonia). The offer is discounted to Olbia and Cagliari on the Italian island of Sardinia, as well as Dalaman in Turkey.
What is also new is that in Akureyri (Iceland) the service will be available continuously from June to August.
