As the Swiss subsidiary of the furniture giant announced on Monday, the company thus exceeded the record result set during the pandemic (2020/21) by 4 percent. It was said that online presentation and office inventory were in high demand in the last fiscal year.

According to the information obtained, online commerce has a share of 25.7 percent in total. Compared to the previous year, the region showed a good growth of 10 percent. Business-to-business work focusing on furnishing SMEs’ workplaces also increased by 11 percent.

Ikea wrote in its statement that this increase shows that companies are increasingly turning to cheaper furniture.

The company also announced that it wants to reduce prices in the new financial year. Since September 2023, 400 products such as beds and sofas have been offered for sale at lower prices, and according to the information received, the same number of discounts will be made in the next few months.

Ikea opened its first store in Switzerland 50 years ago. Today the furniture store has 9 branches throughout Switzerland. Another is planned to open in Valais in spring 2024. The company has approximately 3,300 employees in this country. (SDA)
