At the beginning of the week, American media regulator Media Matters published a report. In this report, the organization stated that ads from major companies on Platform X often result in anti-Semitic content.
The report had far-reaching consequences for X: Almost every day, major companies announced that they would no longer place ads on Elon Musk’s platform. Apple and Disney are also retreating. Additionally, the number of users has been decreasing for weeks. For X, this could mean a significant loss of sales.
Elon Musk spoke on Saturday. The owner of X announced on Monday that he would be suing Media Matters. “As soon as the court opens on Monday, X Corp will launch a thermonuclear lawsuit against Media Matters and ALL who participated in this fraudulent attack on our company,” the multi-billionaire said.
“Misleading advertisers”
According to Musk, Media Matters published a “story that completely misrepresents actual experiences at X.” According to the 52-year-old man, the report was an attempt to “undermine freedom of expression and mislead advertisers”.
On: “For speech to be truly free, we must also have the freedom to see or hear things that some people may find offensive,” says the world’s richest person. (obf)
