And this trend continues today: chalets are in demand and are becoming increasingly expensive depending on location.

Demand for real estate may be decreasing in general, but there is no crisis in Alpine real estate. Chalet prices have risen by an average of 4.4 per cent in the 12 months to June 2023, driven by growth in regions such as St Moritz, Verbier and Crans-Montana, according to a survey of Knight Frank customers.
