One of the world’s richest men packs moving boxes. Jeff Bezos (59) announced on Instagram that he will be leaving Seattle and moving to Florida. He recently purchased a second property in Miami. You guessed it: when it comes to luxury, it’s hard to beat.
The $161 billion man misses his family. Bezos announced on his Instagram account that he will move his official residence to South America. He wants to be closer to his parents and the work of the space company Blue Origin. The Amazon founder added a video showing his first office in a Seattle garage. There was still no trace of wealth.
Almost 30 years later, a lot has changed. In June, he purchased his first property in Miami’s Indian Creek for $68 million. The artificially created island is also called “Billionaire Refuge” in the USA. A second villa next door followed in mid-October. It is said that Jeff Bezos paid $79 million for it.
Definitive plans still open
There are reasons why prices are high. Seven rooms and 14(!) bathrooms are spread over 1,770 square meters. The bar, library, pool, home theater and six-car garage are not to be missed. The two properties together cover an area of 2630 square metres.
However, it is not yet official whether the Amazon founder will actually move into the villa. According to US reports, Bezos plans to demolish the smaller $68 million property and build a magnificent mega-mansion. It’s unclear whether he wants to scrap his latest purchase as well. The multi-billionaire would be a neighbor in Indian Creek to football star Tom Brady, 46, singer Julio Iglesias, 80, Ivanka Trump, 42, and Jared Kushner, 42.
Bezos also owns other properties in Washington, New York and Los Angeles. He now uses a farm in Texas to launch rockets for his space company.
