Grisons Tourism has been attracting attention with its humorous advertisements for years – who doesn’t know the mountain goats Gian and Giachen? For Halloween, the tourism marketing organization’s social media team went one step further.

On Facebook and Instagram, people in Grisons complain that they are most afraid of “high fog, plains and the Thurgau dialect”.

While the people of Zurich are used to the Graubinden coups in “z’Unterland”, the Thurgauers rarely get their turn. “This time we are targeting the people of Thurgau because, according to surveys, this dialect is seen as one of the less popular ones,” Thalia Wunsch, co-chair of the Content Rooms in Graubeğen Ferien, explains to Blick. “We see the diversity of dialects as a special feature of Switzerland, which means having fun “It’s a good thing for you.”

Return bus to Thurgau arrives immediately

Rolf Müller (54), managing director of Thurgau-Bodensee Tourismus, takes this calmly: “At least you understand our dialect!” he says to Blick. And so black Peter passes to the people of Valais.

The social media team has already reacted. While doing this, he makes fun of Grisons Tourism’s advertising characters and some Grisons clichés. And communicate with hands and feet if necessary.

Rolf Müller and Grisons Ferien manager Martin Vincenz (60) exchanged ideas about the task. Müller meets the attack on the Thurgau dialect with humor; He knows that in Switzerland people treat the Grisons dialect better. And he says: “That’s why no Thurgau resident will cancel their holidays in Graubinden.” It leaves open the issue of whether there was another means of retaliation.

Thalia Wunsch is pleased with the humorous feedback from Thurgau residents and says that Thurgau residents feel as welcome as other guests in Graubeğen. And then he adds mischievously: “The people of Zurich will have to die again next time.”
