Within the scope of the feasibility study, it was analyzed how suitable 11 properties are for electricity production with solar energy in terms of their structure, grid connection and usage planning. The city of Wil wrote in a statement Wednesday morning.

Implementation of eight selected projects is currently underway or planned for the next two years. The expansion of solar systems is part of the municipality’s strategy to no longer emit greenhouse gases for its energy supply by 2050.

The city of Wil hopes the eight systems will produce approximately 900 megawatt hours of electricity per year.
