From January to September, Sulzer received orders worth 2.81 billion francs, the company announced on Wednesday. When calculated in local currencies, this figure is 18 percent more than the previous year. The appreciation of the Swiss franc reduced order intake by 0.2 billion.
However, the momentum slowed slightly in the third quarter of the year. Orders from June to September increased by 5.4 percent. The company will not announce sales and profit figures until the annual results.
According to the information obtained, all three divisions provided double-digit growth in Sulzer’s order intake. Compared with the previous year and local currencies, new orders increased by 19.2 percent in Services, 18.0 percent in Chemtech and 16.9 percent in Flow Equipment.
Sulzer also grew in all regions. Order intake increased by 23.1 percent in North, Central and South America, 23.3 percent in the Asia-Pacific region, and 9.4 percent in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The people of Winterthur confirm their annual predictions for 2023, despite global economic uncertainties and challenges. Accordingly, Sulzer targets organic sales growth of 11 to 13 percent and operating profit margins of around 11 percent.
