In July, Flyer announced some layoffs. Now everything is about to get much worse. The Swiss e-bike pioneer, headquartered in Huttwil BE and currently in German hands, is carrying out a mass layoff. About 300 Flyer employees were briefed on the details this morning. They now firmly believe in what was promised to them weeks ago. Because: The consultation process launched in recent weeks has not produced any viable alternatives to redundancies.

The e-bike manufacturer explains the difficult step: “Flyer AG has developed a restructuring program and thus secures the long-term future of the company.” The restructuring will result in the layoff of 80 people. That’s more than a quarter of the current 300 employees! A Flyer spokesperson assures: The dismantling will be carried out in as socially responsible a way as possible. A social plan was developed for this purpose.
