Production in Hochdorf will be closed and concentrated at the location in Sulgen in Thurgau. Accordingly, according to the statement made by the company on Monday evening, the factory in Hochdorf should be in operation by the end of 2026.

The closure of Hochdorf was announced nearly two years ago. This plan was originally supposed to be implemented this year, but was later postponed.

The factory in Hochdorf will now be given a grace period until 2026. As was later said, 40 permanent positions with a social plan will be cut. According to the information, the development, sales, marketing and management teams (approximately 90 employees in total) will remain at the Hochdorf location.

According to the announcement, only the facilities required for the production of baby food in Hochdorf will be transferred to Sulgen. This is in line with the company’s strategy.

According to the information obtained, moving all powder drying capacities to Sulgen will require high investment, which will not be economically justified due to the relatively low profitability of the powder market in the capital (export) market. However, Hochdorf is “open to raising capital from interested parties in this regard,” according to the statement.
