How to become a luxury real estate agent?

It’s actually pretty simple: through hard work. I started very small. I started with a simple website and was posting ads in neighborhoods 12 hours a week describing my free home valuation and sales service.

Very easy?

At one point I got the first order to sell a house in Schindellegi, but besides me, four well-known realtors from the area had applied. I then sold the house relatively quickly and at a good price. I was curious and asked the marketer at the time why he had chosen me as his broker. I didn’t have a single object on my website.

We have properties from 500,000 to 50 million francs. We recently sold our villa in Canton Schwyz for CHF 50 million. By the way, such objects never appear on the Internet or in brochures.

What is the advantage of secretly selling real estate?

This does not include sightseeing tourism. Just yesterday, I got a call from a banker who had a client with a budget of up to 15 million francs. Did I have anything? It usually works this way. We’ve built our network over the years. This includes family offices, banks, relocation agents and of course business leaders, celebrities and lots of advice.

You can’t say that, but even the very rich take care of their money. This is probably why they have so many of them. Whether a little rich or very rich, everyone is keeping a close eye on money.

What type of property is most in demand right now?

Do you offer other services?

We have a network of tax advisers, notaries, lawyers, construction professionals and architects. And also an excellent mortgage broker; You can save a lot of money there. This type of support is incredibly important, especially to many of our foreign customers.

We don’t just go there without a job and open an office. This is not how it works. We are looking for people who have experience in a region and set up the first business in our existing offices. You are a family business. Does this work smoothly?

First, our son-in-law, who is the wife of our youngest daughter, got on, and then my wife and eldest daughter got on with her husband. We have a great time together, and we meet like good friends outside of work. All of them work at least 60 percent of their time as brokers. Also, everyone has additional duties. One is in charge of marketing, the other is in charge of human resources, and my wife does the accounting.

How do you recognize a good broker?

A good broker has a wide network and should have already made sales in the market. A solid appearance is important and you should present your arguments to your customers in a reasonable way.

Where in your sales area is a family most likely to find an affordable single-family home?

Ausserschwyz stands out here. A little further from the lake shore, there are attractive properties to explore, for example in Schübelbach, Tuggen and also in Wangen. The municipalities in the canton of Zug are also of interest: Hagedorn, Neuheim and Menzingen. With a little luck and the right network, the dream of an affordable home can also be realized in the communities of Hirzel, Schönenberg, Stäfa and Rüti in Zurich.

Do you have any other advice for casual property seekers?

Write down the 10 most important points that are important to you when buying a house. If you get seven out of ten on an item, buy it! Eight points is very rare, nine points is like winning the lottery, ten points is impossible.
