The influencer business is also booming in Switzerland, though their incomes won’t quite compare to those of influence giants Cristiano Ronaldo (38), Kim Kardashian (42) or Selena Gomez (31). However, a study by the Swiss portal Casino.ch, which is mainly concerned with the evaluation of online casinos, shows that the top earners in this country still earn high five-figure amounts per post. French-speaking Swiss Instagram comedy star Nicocapone (32) topped the list with 11 million followers and earnings of CHF 96,000 per post.

Zurich is not on top

The research evaluated not only earnings, but also influencer density in Swiss cities. There’s a big surprise: Zurich isn’t number one, it’s French-speaking Geneva. There are 241 impressive in the city of Rhone. That’s 15 per square kilometer.

There are only 12 in Zurich. But the real issue is size: Zurich’s urban area is five and a half times larger than Geneva’s. In absolute numbers, the city in Limmat is clearly ahead with an impressive 1021.

For the first time after Geneva and Zurich, a clear difference emerged in both density and absolute number. Basel is in third place with 154 phenomena (just over 6 per square kilometer). The top tourist destination, Lucerne, ranks fourth with an impressive 5 per square kilometer.

The most popular travel theme

When it comes to topics, one thing is clearly ahead of the best influencers: travel. However, beauty, fitness and nutrition are also among the popular concepts of Instagram. It is noteworthy that comedy does not seem like something peculiar to Switzerland. Even the ten most popular phenomena are followed only by travel or lifestyle ambassadors, after sketch makers Nicocapone.

By the way: The study also calculated its impressive density in Europe. Leader Barcelona (Spain). The city of Catalonia is home to an impressive 99 per square kilometer. That’s almost seven times Switzerland’s number one.
