Now Zurich Airport is getting involved in the heated debate. According to the latest Höri ZH news release, Zurich Airport cannot meet the municipality’s demand for fireworks due to heavy air traffic. Therefore, as “Tages-Anzeiger” writes, official fireworks should be cancelled.
Special fireworks are not allowed
Even private fireworks are not allowed in Höriberg. There is an absolute ban on fireworks. The public doesn’t like it. SVP community head Roger Götz is “not enthusiastic” as he told Tagi. He could not understand the decision. Negotiations with the airport would be fruitless. “As a community on the escape route, we have to accept this decision for better or for worse,” he says resignedly.
Also, there are no fireworks in Niederglatt ZH this year. Airport “No!” says. The municipality was to store fireworks that could not be ignited a year ago due to severe drought. “This has disturbed and disappointed us,” SVP community head Stefan Schmid says in the report.
Airport shows security reasons
