In mountainous areas, midsummer temperatures are much more pleasant. Among the most popular Swiss holiday destinations in 2023 – as the figures from holiday home broker E-Domizil show – are Engadin, Lenzerheide, the Jungfrau region and the Bernese Oberland, in addition to Ticino.
There is a lot of demand, and this is reflected in the prices. But where can you find holiday apartments and holiday homes in pleasantly tempered areas in a short time?
Blick asked vacation home brokers that demand has been slightly lower so far, even in fresh, high places. This means that holiday apartments are still available at short notice.
There’s still plenty of room in Valais and Graubünden
In e-Domizil, there are still enough vacant homes and flats in high places in the following communities:
- Goms – Niederwald VS (1360 m altitude)
- Heidiland – Pizol / Grabs SG (1720 m altitude)
- Kandersteg BE (at 1174 m above sea level)
- Portes du Soleil – Morgins VS (1333 m altitude)
- Sörenberg LU (at 1159 m above sea level)
- Val d’Anniviers – St-Luc VS (1525 m altitude)
- Verbier VS (1398 m altitude)
Blick also asked the Interhome Group. There are still free accommodations available at the following locations.
- Crans-Montana VS (1495 m altitude)
- Mittelbundan region (eg Bergün at 1367 m above sea level)
- Nendaz VS (1365 m altitude)
- Prättigau GR (for example, Klosters at 1205 m above sea level)
- Surselva GR (for example, Disentis at 1130 m above sea level)
- Vercorin VS (1334 m altitude)
According to Interhome spokesperson Muriel Wolf Landau, time-flexible customers will surely find suitable accommodation for their summer vacation in Switzerland in different sizes and standards. “Zermatt and Lenzerheide are already packed, but we still have room there.”
