It’s been a busy day, Zurich Airport spokeswoman Elena Stern told Keystone-SDA on request. But the business got off to a good start on Saturday. “There were no longer wait times or other issues.”
Daily updated figures on passenger volume for July will not be released until mid-August. During the summer holidays, Zurich Airport expects about 100,000 passengers on busy days.
Euroairport in Basel also reported a high number of passengers. Spokesperson Manuela Witzig said 87,600 passengers are expected over the entire weekend since Friday. That’s about 10,000 more than recorded over the first two weekends of July. But Witzig says so far, operations have been going well and smoothly.
