The current inflation rate is three percent, the lowest in a little over two years. A moderate rate hike looks certain by the end of this month, but prospects for further rate hikes may weaken, according to US Federal Reserve analysts.
Leading index Dow Jones Industrial expanded its recent gains and rose 0.25 percent to 34,347.43 points. Overall, the S&P 500 rose 0.74 percent to 4472.16 points.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 rose 1.24 percent to 15,307.23 points. It is currently trading at the January 2022 level and therefore benefited from the significant drop in bond yields, especially after the release of price data.
