As Post and Fenaco announced on Monday, the collaboration will open 150 locations, each with a different number of charging points, for fast charging of electric vehicles. Therefore, charging stations should be marketed together and be used by both private individuals and companies.
He said that close coverage conditions were met with the branches of the post office and the Agrola gas stations belonging to the Fenaco-Landi group. Many fast charging stations are now located along highways. Post and Fenaco’s charging networks will add charging options for electric vehicles in villages, towns and rural areas.
This also contributes to the federal government’s sustainability goals. The electromobility roadmap predicts that the number of public charging stations will increase from around 7,000 today to 20,000 in 2025.
The expansion of charging stations is also linked to Swiss Post’s climate and energy targets. The first priority is to avoid CO2 emissions as completely as possible. That’s why Swiss Post will be continually converting its vehicles to alternative rides over the next few years. On request, a post spokesperson said 10,000 charging points will one day be needed for the postal fleet, but these will mostly be built at stations that are not accessible to the public.
