This Friday at 10:00, Migros was invited to a media interview. The presidents of Migros Cooperatives Federation (MGB) and the new supermarket AG (MSM) made statements about the new structuring for the first time. Speakers include:

- Guido Rast appointed as Chairman of the Board of MSM
- Peter Diethelm, CEO of MSM
The cat is out of the bag: Peter Diethelm, who previously ran the Migros cooperative in Eastern Switzerland, will head the new supermarket AG. It’s called MSM and aims to make the orange giant more efficient and stronger on the sales front from 2024. Another regional leader joins the MSM Board of Directors: Guido Rast, formerly chairman of the Lucerne Cooperative, is appointed Chairman of the Board. Two powerful regional managers, the beginning of the Migros revolution!
This shifts power from Migros’ headquarters at Limmatplatz in Zurich to the new supermarket AG. The supremacy of the Migros Cooperatives Federation (MGB) comes to an end with this, which is also a historic step in the Dutti universe.

With the new management, MGB wants to reform its supermarket business. The goal is to simplify and organize work more effectively. That’s because the challenges remain great and the costs remain high – especially due to rising raw material and operating costs due to inflation.
