Fashion Knitted fashion: 7 ways to look trendy and not add to your age

Your diamond eye must have noticed that fashion is full of paradoxes. Yes, that’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. The scenario of recent years has shown that men are increasingly putting their hips into tight pants and flaunting their cleavage. And women, in turn, are much less confused by the gloss and prefer the style called “tomboy” or “boy girl”.

So Mother Nature has seen enough of this disgrace and has also staged a seasonal apocalypse. “Let them freeze in ripped jeans in the bitter winter and sweat in knits in the summer!” They wanted it – they got it, but at the same time they outsmarted it and set a new trend for crochet dresses, crochet ensembles and raffia shoes, like Jeanne Damas. Let’s figure out what to do in the warm weather with all that insulated goodness!

In fact, sympathy for knitwear thundered through the fault of our sympathy. Let’s say you chronically forget to visit grandma. And suddenly they decided to fulfill their granddaughter’s duty: they exchanged the next party in the city with aperol for heart-to-heart conversations over apple charlotte. And under the patterned cardigan, lovingly knitted with mohair threads, they supposedly hid the extra pounds.

But it is not the only reason why handmade fashion triumphed. In the vastness of Google, I came across an aphorism: “Knitting is light and not knitting is darkness.” Of course, people are having as much fun as they can, but they inadvertently hit the bullseye. Knitwear turns a fashionista into an intellectual. I explain why.

If you decide to replace a sporty crop top or bandeau with something lacy and knitted, it stands to reason that your actions were dictated by some motive. For example, the shot from the movie Wet Matter where a young Melanie Griffith covers her bust and solar plexus with a jade top of this kind. Or you’ve swapped the usual lycra or microfiber for something original when choosing a beach bikini – which means you’ve probably drawn inspiration from the 1970s movie “The Pool,” where Jane Birkin gazes enigmatically into the distance in a two-piece swimsuit made of milk loops. We also had a quick look at the Zimmermann touring show.

It is likely that men are guaranteed to praise your fastidious taste and sharp mind, because a knitted product signals a developed imagination. If you got caught up in the craze of the 70s and 80s and bought a wide-brimmed hat and a tote bag – rejoice! The Moscow-based Mirstores brand will definitely have macrame dresses or more playful knitwear. So that your cheeks don’t turn red from half-naked shame, designers recommend wearing them over a combination or with simple jeans. And for incorrigibly shy women – long trapezes with a boat neckline in a wide stripe. Any model of the collection, boasting tanned skin, will amaze with its aesthetics.

For cool August nights, get a pleated midi skirt in creamy lemon or strawberry dragee. You can complement it with a knitted relative or a denim jacket of your friend – he will be charmed by your stylistic talent and will not soon notice the loss. And don’t forget, in the tradition set by Jane Birkin, to grab the basket (see the link for a quick guide on how to use it).

Maybe I missed something? Definitely! One of the magical benefits of knitwear is that it extends its influence to all wardrobe items. Where there is a knitting needle and a hook, it is not far from neighboring techniques.

Wicker this summer can be not only hats and bags, but also shoes. We would like to thank Jeanne Damas from the bottom of our hearts, who brings retro Parisian flair and discovers new names to loyal fans on a daily basis. Enthusiastic supporters of ecology are, for example, the Miiista brand, which produces shoes from raffia. Founder Laura Vilassenin and a team of Spanish artisans create low-heeled moccasins. They are woven from natural palm fiber and look like the twins of Russian bast shoes. Shades of caramel and oat milk are pleasing to the eye and harmoniously complement all the absolute must-haves you bought on sale.
