Or the look will be cheap: the only fashionable way to wear a scarf in 2023

Don’t try to deny this accessory – we know, we know, you’ve had it. And not because we get personal archives, but because every first girl in the nineties wore these “icicle” scarves. Now we would call them “liquid” due to the lack of at least some volume, “flat” material without a beautiful texture and a hint of drapery, often low-quality fabric. But 15 years ago they looked so fashionable!…

From Jennifer Aniston to the Olsen sisters, from Paris Hilton to fashionista Kate Moss, the most stylish girls of their time have proudly wrapped this scarf around their necks. In Western gloss, it is ironically called skinny – precisely because of the lack of volume. Models made of cheap and simple knitwear did not enrich the outfits in any way, but after years they began to look completely ridiculous.

And yet they (drum roll) are back in fashion!

And yes, there is a catch: from old memory, you can tie a bland scarf obtained from the bins in the dressing room and drastically reduce the cost of your image. So why is the “liquid” accessory being worn by fashion influencers again? Take a closer look: they do not choose flat knitted options, but models that are interesting in colors and materials. For example, Bella Hadid recently got married in a ruffled scarf, fashion blogger Emily Sindlev wears a knitted version, other fashionistas choose colorblock, fluffy, woven, satin scarves.

And this means that skinny scarves are back in trend, but in an improved “edit” – that is, with an unusual, tangible texture in the hands. Watch out for the knitted “icicles”, they will reduce the cost of the outfit in no time. Otherwise, it’s a gorgeous and sweet homage to the 2000s aesthetic – you might get nostalgic!
