We, you know, love biting quotes – they act like a sobering shower. Sometimes, in order to take a critical look at our own style and mercilessly go through our wardrobe, we re-read Karl Lagerfeld’s quotes – for example, here we retell one of his most famous and harshest statements. And now I was interested in a quote by Evelina Khromchenko, which I want to think about.
Of course, Evelina’s words can be disputed: because of the gradually changing attitude of girls to themselves and, as a result, to their clothes, mental health care, which is being introduced into our everyday space, the approach to our own wardrobe is also changing. Magazines and websites motivate you to step out of your comfort zone, to buy things that really make you happy. And how many fashion guides on the Internet about building your own style!
But at the same time…

Let’s be honest: how many clothes do you wear every day? We’re willing to bet that even more than necessary. How to check it? Just take a critical look at your wardrobe – how many things do you really wear at least once a week? And now let’s see how many elegant dresses, overalls, blouses, bags, shoes you have for going out. Not as much as you’d like, right? And here’s simple math: there are more (often bland) everyday clothes than cool accent accessories, pants and tops.

But if you reduce the “grey zone” of the wardrobe with bland sweaters and outdated jeans – and add a little more “going out” clothes, you get a cool mix. Fashion bloggers use just such a life hack: we add one or two unusual, bright elements to the everyday base – a non-banal and stylish outfit is ready. It doesn’t take much effort to break away from the same type of turtlenecks and plain leather jackets bought years ago and put away in the closet because it’s a shame to get rid of them.
And to check if you are stuck in this abyss of everyday boredom, just read Evelina’s words again – they are encouraging!
