“Think the image through to the smallest detail”
Today, this rule has already lost its meaning. Too charming a story, a “licked” image, an outfit thought out to the smallest detail seems a little old-fashioned. It is better to go beyond and try to assemble an image with a slight carelessness: not perfect curls, but slightly disheveled, not a T-shirt or shirt neatly tucked in, but tied in a knot – then the drive will appear in the look. Don’t deprive yourself of the opportunity to create and don’t be limited by rules, everything is possible in fashion today!
“The bag should match the color of the shoes”
Seriously? When did we wear this, 20 years ago?! No, no and no again, forget this rule, today I recommend choosing a bag without going by the shade of the shoes. The accessory can be a completely different color that is combined with pumps / sneakers / shoes, or it can be multi-colored, or simply harmoniously fit into the set in terms of texture and geometry.
And the last option for the brave: yes, the bag can become an accent in the look and it does not suit anything at all. For example, your outfit is all black, in this case you can choose a bag in fuchsia, electric blue, orange, neon, red, silver, yes, absolutely anything. It will become the centerpiece of the kit – try it, great life hack.
“A dress can only be worn with a coat”
And how do you like such a bold option (for desperate and bold girls who are not afraid to break the rules) – a dress with a down jacket? In fact, such an image theoretically contradicts all the rules, but the world’s leading couturiers have been showing us for several seasons how these things can fit into one set. Shoes will help with this – look for chunkier sneakers, over-the-knee boots or ankle boots, they will connect the dress and bulky outerwear.
“You can’t mix metals”
Yes, I’m not arguing, there was a time when we collected all the jewelry and even the accessories for the wedding ring bag. But the time has come when we can freely combine gold earrings and a silver bracelet – it looks even more interesting, there is some flirting with the rules. If you feel that it is uncomfortable in this “strange” way, I recommend using one bicolor product that will already contain two colors of metal. Such earrings or a chain will combine all the accessories and metal in the outfit and you will definitely feel safe.
“Buy only new things”
An unexpected twist, isn’t it? Today, upcycling is in trend – this is one of the current practices of recycling things, which allows you to give them a new life. Why throw away old jeans, when you can adjust them, sew another piece of others or insert chains, for example, and get new, interesting ones that no one else has?
If you understand that you are too lazy to deal with it, pay attention to the works of young designers. Now many fashion designers work in the upcycling technique, reworking jackets, shirts, sneakers, bags and even coats. So we care about the environment and become even more stylish at the same time.
“You cannot combine more than three colors in one image”
Sometimes it seems to me that these rules are made up by people who can’t combine more than three colors in one outfit, it’s hard to find other explanations. Believe me, you can combine both four colors and two prints, the main thing is not to make mistakes in the combination, use the available color schemes for this. “If you want to be fashionable – follow the trends”
I wish all the headaches associated with finding a unique style could be solved so quickly and easily, but it doesn’t happen. Not all trends can be applied to each other, and if you declare a lot of them in one outfit, then you can – there should be moderation.
Of course, in every season there are things-highlights, the most top, all fashionistas want to have them. If you really want to, take them too, but don’t mindlessly buy everything just because it’s trendy.
