The story behind the viral Totême coat is similar to the Acne Studios scarf we told you about recently. Both were not the main novelty of the season – the scarf and the coat of the respective brands were not released this year. But each time, the fashionistas sold them out almost immediately, letting the brands know they’d have to restock the model everyone loved until its popularity waned. The lines for the Totême shawl coat never end!
You can probably guess what its main feature is: a short coat with a classic cut is complemented by a sewn scarf made of the same wool, which does not look like a separate accessory, but like a whole stylish ensemble. In addition, straight, even slightly old-fashioned patterns in combination with an asymmetrically tied scarf look fresh and interesting – and contrasts always attract attention.
At the same time, the coat is very versatile: it can be worn with jeans, white chinos, a midi skirt, a dress. We can assume that Totême designers have found a real gold mine for the upcoming seasons. The brand has already expanded the original range and added sand, graphite and light gray to the black model. The issue price is from 770 to 800 euros (from 52 to 54 thousand rubles).
Of course, the price tag is quite large, but the idea itself is quite enlightening. You don’t have to hunt for the original scarf coat to replicate this fashion trick: just find a coat and scarf that match the shades and textures separately. Then they will look just as solid, but at the same time they will become a much cheaper purchase. And after shopping, practice new scarf tying techniques: some tricks are just right for these Totême-style combos!
