Because of mistakes in choosing a sweater, you can literally age 10 years and gain 10 kilograms in an instant! Today we’re going to look at five of the most common – check if you’ve done any of them!
Poor quality material

Nothing ages a woman like clothes that look like they’ve been worn by the third generation in the family. That is why it is so important to carefully study the label and pay attention to the composition of the item. Cheap yarn stretches and twists very quickly when washed, so it’s better to buy one quality sweater than several “simple” ones. And of course don’t forget the lint trimmer – it costs pennies and can return a sweater to “newly bought” condition.
Older model
There is another golden rule that should always be taken into account: current trendy things make women look younger, and those that are hopelessly outdated have the opposite effect. So avoid “outdated” goods – things that were at the height of fashion last season or the year before and are now forgotten. And of course, invest in timeless classics – they are the best basic wardrobe for women who want to dress elegantly.
Bad color or print
When following trends, we must not forget our own characteristics. Just because a certain color or print is popular this season doesn’t mean it will suit you. For example, a horizontal stripe can fill you up, and massiveness is associated with respectable age, and as a result, an unsuccessful pattern will add extra years to you.
Wrong size
Have you ever bought a sweater in the wrong size just because you liked it and it was the last one in the store? So don’t do this! Any thing that is out of size distorts the proportions, but in the case of a sweater, this effect is especially strong. A sweater that is too big or too small will add extra weight to you. So try to be cool – refuse a new thing if it is designed for a woman bigger or smaller than you.
Failure to follow the rules

When buying a sweater, you should always remember not only your individual characteristics, but also the general rules for shaping the silhouette. For example, make sure that the sweater does not end in the widest part of the figure – this way you will not gain “visual” extra kilograms. Long sweaters should not be worn with skinny ones – this will make the legs disproportionately short. Be careful with shapeless things: for example, a collar that forms many folds will visually expand the neck, and hanging sleeves will make the figure hunch.
