We don’t know about you, but we used to get into trouble quite often because of shoes. This usually happens right after the purchase: you bought new outerwear, carefully matched it with the colors of your favorite sweaters, dresses and pants, finally put them on in the morning to work, “everything so beautiful”, you put on your shoes in the hallway – and that’s it here, the disappointment of the century. It turns out that comfortable shoes do not match the jacket. But why? She looked so versatile!
I do, but no. If the outerwear is designed on the verge of a sporty elegant style, then most likely the combination with classic shoes will spoil the whole outfit. But comfortable insulated boots or even high fur boots suit us quite well. It is about such details that we will talk to you today – let’s find out what styles of jackets, coats and down jackets are combined with different shoes.
Jacket
Leather jackets are a transitional option from warm autumn to real cold, so they require the same demi-season companions. You can’t go wrong with chelsea boots or lace-up boots – the latter are insulated, which is very important for us during periods when the weather is particularly changeable.

Feather jacket
For a down jacket, we use the same method as for jackets: the denser and “heavier” the outer garment is, the more massive and insulated the shoes should be. That’s why Chelsea suits go well with light down jackets, like in this photo from Fashion Week. But in November to December we wear heavier jackets, so shoes and boots should also be stable and insulated.

Short down jackets are suitable for semi-sporty shoes such as high boots, insulated sneakers (something between regular sneakers and boots), moon rovers (these are also “dutiks”). But long models indicate the presence of some more elegant element – boots on a heel (stable or stiletto) or even over-the-knee boots.

plush jacket
We love fluffy bears! In the period between autumn and winter (read November), it fits perfectly into a semi-seasonal wardrobe. And they give a huge space for experimentation: with a fluffy coat, you can easily combine the same Chelsea boots with boots, as well as boots with prints, ankle boots and over-the-knee boots. One of the most seamless models of outerwear!

Sheepskin coat
We’ve already written about great combinations with a sheepskin coat here, but these life hacks are about the inner layer – suits, knitwear, skirts and the list goes on. But when it comes to shoes suitable for a sheepskin coat, you need to know a few more important details. Firstly, boots and boots of medium height look organically with such outerwear, so it is better not to experiment with boots above the knees. Pay attention to boots and over-the-knee boots with a spacious top – thanks to the “air”, the proportions will be maintained.
Leather boots look best with a sheepskin coat – so the top and bottom support each other. This is the safest option and frankly the most practical. And with heavy jackets, you can wear boots with massive “tractor” soles: both sheepskin coats and such boots have a complex massive texture that complements them perfectly.
