If you once proudly wore boots and ankle boots from our list of anti-trends, it’s not scary. That’s why it’s trendy to step aside and give way to something more relevant. But if you still have such exhibits in your wardrobe, then we will have to have a serious conversation!
Open toe ankle boots
If we were to highlight one single fashion rule, it would be the law of correspondence. Of course, you can (and should) mix different styles, textures, shades, shapes – that’s how interesting styling is born. But open-toed shoes and fur are definitely not friends!
Warning: yes, many fashion designers walk around in fur coats and summer sandals. But that’s a tribute to the paparazzi and street style that come together to impress. In real life, open toes, perforations and other remnants of summer should not enter your autumn wardrobe.

Narrow shoes
What girl hasn’t dreamed of tight stilettos! You can wear them with skinny jeans, a fur vest and make your hair the legendary “bun”. Yes, there was a time – but it’s gone!

Stiletto heeled boots with zip
In general, thin ankle boots with the same thin and high stiletto heels have long been considered fashion junk. At least because it’s impractical: you can’t run through puddles and especially the first icy conditions in these heels, even if you’re Carrie Bradshaw, conqueror of high boots. And in combination with a decorative zipper, such ankle boots will definitely not fit into our autumn wardrobe.
By the way, the situation can be easily corrected: just choose a model with either a stable wide heel or a shorter stiletto heel. In general, we recommend avoiding decorative elements – they limit the number of possible images, because bells, lightning and rivets have to be taken into account. But if you still have an eye for ankle boots with a design, let it be laconic – it will be easier to integrate a new thing into the autumn capsule.

Ankle socks
Another relic of the past are ankle boots with a sewn-on “stocking”. This design often cheapens the look: with a thin stiletto heel and a thin “toe”, the shoes are stripped of status details. In addition, it often looks flimsy visually, which means that it does not go well with a heavy coat or a bulky trench coat.
Of course, even now in stores you can find ankle boots with “stockings”, and many of them have every right to your attention. Find something useful: if it has a stable heel, a solid toe and a generally strong frame, you can try such a model.

Wedge sneakers
No, it’s true: fashion experts have said so many unpleasant things about wedge sneakers, but they still appear every now and then on the streets and in shoe collections. Whatever anyone may say, it’s rare that “sneakers” become friends with wedges, and the chances of finding a really great pair that fully justify the idea are slim. So we honestly don’t recommend taking any chances!
