That’s clearly what happened with this “nude” Alexander McQueen dress that Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the 2002 Oscars.
After her fashion (and film) triumph at the ceremony in 1999 in a gorgeous pink dress, the actress was destined for failure this time around.
This picture of Gwyneth was criticized by the nine-year-olds, and until recently they kept reminding her of this failed exit. So the actress had to make an excuse.
In 2021, Gwyneth Paltrow admitted to Vogue that, looking back, she probably would have softened the look by wearing a bra underneath and different, less grim makeup.
But it seems that Gwyneth was just ahead of her time – today her outfit falls into all the trends of the zoomer generation.
