From the first half of Season 4, which aired last year, it was clear that June 2nd was going to be an important day in Manifesto’s history. Because this day should be the last of mankind. How good that Netflix has released the last episodes that fit this date. Hardcore fans should know by now how the series (which was once saved by the streamer) comes to an end. For all the people who don’t feel like binging ten more episodes, we’ll try to get the complex ending straight to the point for you guys.
Warning, this text contains many spoilers!
What happened to Flight 828, which suddenly disappeared from radar five years ago? In the last episodes of the second half of season four, the apocalypse of humanity is imminent and seems to be related to the fate of the missing airline passengers. With the earth already boiling and nearing its end, the plane reappears and after wanting to sacrifice himself for everyone else, Cal (Ty Doran) is sure: the passengers must board again.
Because as indicated in previous seasons, it is a divine force that determines the fate of Flight 828 and humanity. This last flight will be the final test of who deserves to live and who doesn’t.
But before everyone can enter, Angelina (Holly Taylor) tries to prevent the case with the help of the Sapphire and her disciples. In the end, she’s convinced that only eight people (she’s one of them, of course) should survive – which is why she tries to get rid of everyone else (or get them off the plane again). But Angelina fails, her sapphire loses its power.
The magic word is “forgiveness”
However, Angelina is not expelled from school, but taken on a plane by Ben (Josh Dallas), who is able to forgive her for what has happened so far. It soon becomes clear that the final episodes of Manifesto are all about forgiveness. How to discover Olive (Luna Blaise), who also tries to save humanity, the inscription “Forgiveness enlightens the heart” – the solution to the riddle seems to have been found.
Gradually, many passengers confess their sins, forgive their tormentors and sacrifice themselves for friends and foes – and are thus redeemed. All others dissolve to the smallest particles. With the enumeration of countless good deeds, even a monster rising from the remains of the decayed will be defeated. So evil turns to dust and the good, selfless and purified are allowed to live.
At the end of Manifest, Flight 828 lands on schedule on April 7, 2013 in the blazing sun. Ten passengers – including Angelina – are no longer on board, although they boarded safely. You are reported missing. Everyone else hasn’t aged a day and is starting their new old life.
