Fans of the Netflix series won’t like this: This original star won’t appear in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Daredevil: Born Again is in many ways related to the popular and critically acclaimed Daredevil series that was once on Netflix but is now available on Disney+: Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, as does Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. But there are also plenty of differences that have sparked resentment among fans of the original series:

That has been known for a long time that there will be new love interests for Daredevil AND Kingpin in “Daredevil: Born Again”.. In the case of Vanessa Fisk, it’s a real recast, with the character now played by Sandrine Holt instead of Ayelet Zurer. It is not yet known what role Holt’s colleague Margarita Levieva will play.

In any case, it would be conceivable that Levieva would take over the vacant role of Daredevil’s colleague, girlfriend and now also love interest Karen Page. Than Deborah Ann Wollwho played the role in the old ‘Daredevil’ series has now stated that she will no longer be seen as Karen Page. Unfortunately, this is not a big surprise, because the American industry magazine appeared in March 2023 reports that Woll and Foggy actor Elden Henson are unlikely to return.

During an appearance at the ICCCon fan show in Nashville, Deborah Ann Woll was asked if she might want to move on to the DC Universe (DCU) if the return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) didn’t happen. Woll’s answer:

“I don’t know anything about DC. You know, it was so cool to be a part of this series [also ‚Daredevil‘] are. It was such a unique corner of the MCU. I’m very happy with what I’ve had and there are no plans yet for me on either side of the comics universe. But I am very grateful for the experience I have gained.”

Of course, there is still a chance that Deborah Ann Woll (and/or Elden Henson) will make an appearance. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time (Marvel) stars have had to lie about their involvement in an upcoming project or be less picky about the truth. Think, for example, of Andrew Garfield, who repeatedly swore before “Spider-Man: No Way Home” that he would never wear a Spidey costume again…

The final certainty is expected in early 2024, when “Daredevil: Born Again” is released on Disney+. But even this fuzzy date can still be shaken, as “Born Again” is one of the series delayed by the current Writer’s Guild Of America (WGA) writers’ strike.
