“FUBAR” season 2 on Netflix: it should be so different after the crazy ending in the series with Arnold Schwarzenegger

A second season of FUBAR has not yet been announced, but the chances of it appearing are quite high. Because Netflix wants to expand its partnership with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the season one finale makes it clear that another story is in the works.

Let’s recap: In the end, Luke (Schwarzenegger) and Emma Brunner (Monica Barbara) have to reveal in a gunfight at a wedding in front of their families that not only do they work for the CIA, but that their whole world is turned upside down. Because their secret identities are now widely known. Anyone they’ve ever messed with should now be hunting them, and especially their loved ones. The situation is really “fubar” now, as Luke states at the end.

A major theme of the first season was how Luke and Emma manage to reconcile their double life. That’s done now. The second season is no longer about hiding what’s going on from the family, but about protecting the family. Tally (Fabia Udenio) and Co. are now likely to be caught in the crossfire and possibly become part of dangerous ventures.

It remains to be seen if there will be one major villain again. We assume that Boro (Gabriel Luna) is really dead now. Bringing him back from the dead after performing that trick in the season finale would be overkill. Instead, each episode now lets you unleash other bad guys thirsting for revenge against the Brunner family. But there is another threat that hints at a central danger…

Spy on Tina – that’s going to be a problem!

During the course of the first season, it turns out that NSA agent Tina (Aparna Brielle) is actually a spy for the Russians. But only we, the audience, experience that. Luke, Emma and especially Barry (Milan Carter) have no idea. This story will not be spread for nothing. Something will be done about that. Tina still seems to be supporting the team and only leaking information. But what happens when her mission changes? A new opponent could already pull the strings here.

But it is also conceivable that Tina suddenly finds herself in a loyalty conflict and no longer wants to betray the team. With Luke and Emma’s double life a thing of the past, Tina’s double life is sure to take center stage in the story.

What else the creators have in store remains to be seen. Will Emma find her way back to her ex-fiancé Carter (Jay Baruchel) where the truth is out on the table? Is Luke still determined to get his ex-wife Tally back, and how does he deal with protecting her hated new husband, Donnie (Andy Buckley)? And maybe Luke’s son Oscar (Devon Bostick) is somehow a little more at the center of events?
