Dwayne Johnson has made it absolutely clear that he won’t be appearing in Fast & Furious 10 or Fast & Furious 11. His sometimes very public feud with franchise frontman Vin Diesel prompted this. Nevertheless, we now see him in the closing credits scene of “Fast & Furious 10”. In all likelihood, he’ll take on a bigger role, possibly even a lead role, in the upcoming “Fast & Furious 11.” But how did it happen? That’s the question all over Hollywood – and so there have already been countless questions from those involved.
Director Louis Leterrier says he wants to have a major role in it. To the the filmmaker explained that he “virtually negotiated the peace treaty”, but narrowed it down a bit soon after: “We all did it, in the end the movie did it!”
Dwayne Johnson didn’t join until the movie was finished
Leterrier revealed that he had been planning to work with Johnson for some time, which is how the connection came about. Finally, he had an idea how to get his Luke Hobbs character involved. He presented these to the producers (including Vin Diesel) and the studio, then contacted Dwayne Johnson.
“We contacted Dwayne and his team and said, ‘Come over and watch the film. You have to love the film first!’ Then he came over to see the movie and he loved it. And then the conversations started.”

Vin Diesel is also dated asked how the comeback came about. While he didn’t mention his (former?) rival’s name in his answer, extending it to include Gal Gadot, who also returned at the end, he made it clear that it was about “what feels right for the franchise: How do we make as many people in the world happy as possible?“And both obviously make a lot of people happy,” he declares his personal okay with the return of Dwayne Johnson (and Gal Gadot).
“Fast and Furious 10‘ is currently playing in German cinemas. “Fast and furious 11“currently has no date and has yet to be filmed. In fact, according to Vin Diesel, “Fast & Furious 12” is coming, which leads our video editor Sebastian to an interesting theory about the finale.
