There’s an Alien Vs. Predator series, but we’ll probably never see it!

Since March, “Evil Dead” creator Fede Alvarez has been shooting a new “Alien” movie in Budapest while simultaneously working on an “Alien” series, and fans may have had mixed feelings about it. Finally, some questionable story choices have been made in the past as far as the franchise is concerned, and opinions on the quality of recent Alien movies are very mixed.

When we will see the movie “Alien” and the series “Alien” is not yet certain. If you’re still in the mood for alien universe sci-fi horror, you don’t have to wait any longer – at least in theory. Than Disney currently has a completed alien vs. Predator series in stock no one has seen before. And it will probably stay that way…

“Alien Vs. Predator” animated series in the poison box

On the podcast Producer Joshua Izzo, Fox’s former licensing manager prior to the Disney acquisition, has revealed he will be making an animated series Alien Vs. The ten episodes are fully produced and could theoretically be released immediately – but Disney doesn’t seem interested.

What the series by authors Eric Calderon and Dave Baker is about is not known. Izzo has also not spoken about the exact time of origin. What is certain, however, is that production was finished before the announcement of a new “Alien” movie – because Izzo really wanted to do the series, especially since he didn’t want to wait for another movie.

Why isn’t the Alien Vs.Predator series coming out?

It is unknown why Disney is not releasing the series. It is likely that the quality of the production is not particularly high – after all, only a DVD release was planned from the start. Disney would like to protect the franchise and brand, especially after announcing a new Alien movie.

In addition, a fifth “Predator” movie, “Prey”, was released in 2022, which was not only very well received by viewers, but also received good reviews. A direct-to-DVD animated series probably couldn’t build on this success.
