In exclusive statements to CNN, Chris Sánchez, who is part of the security team of the Duke of Sussex, He referred to the persecution that several photographers had subjected them to two days ago after they left the Women of Vision Awards gala held at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, a venue in Manhattan.
“In the end, no one was hurt and the couple arrived alive and well, but shocked, to the apartment where they were staying,” Sánchez told the American network.
He added that he had “never seen or experienced anything like that. What we were driving was very chaotic. There were a dozen vehicles around the couple: cars, motorcycles and bicycles,” Sánchez said.
In his opinion, there was also danger for citizens “at various times. It could have had fatal consequences. (The pursuers) climbed onto the sidewalk and jumped the red light. At one point, they blocked the limousine (carrying the married couple) and started painting until we could go out.”
Sánchez expressed his concern for the prince to CNN Harry and Meghan. “But more because of the public, because (paparazzi) were very erratic. People were on the sidewalks and crossing the streets, and (photographers) were going through red lights.”
