And while Jackie Chan may not be the first name that comes to mind in connection with the renowned film festival, fans of the Hong Kong superstar can also look forward to news: Jackie Chan is working on a sequel to “The myth“.

The 2005 fantasy adventure is not exactly one of Chan’s best-known films in the country, but it is one of Chan’s biggest hits with international box office earnings of more than $120 million. And it seems that they want to take that success a step further: “The Myth 2”, titled “A legend‘ must be realized for a budget of 50 million dollars, which is generous by Hong Kong standards. Part 1 cost 15 million dollars at the time.

As in the predecessor, Chan will play the lead role and will also have some old acquaintances by his side. In April, it was revealed that Chan is going on another adventure in a movie after The Myth as a time-travelling archaeologist. At the time, however, it was not yet known that this was actually a sequel to the film. Instead part 1 was only used as a comparison film – before the bomb fell.

Chan once again assumes the role of the adventurous Professor Jack and once again explores between the worlds. In the sequel, while on a glacier trek, his students discover a mysterious artifact that confusingly resembles a jade relic from Jack’s dream. So the professor, together with his protégés, investigates the truth behind the mysterious object.
