Action hit “Sniper” on Netflix: Here’s how to watch the other titles in the nine-part series – the first ever indexed

You can currently stream Sniper: Reloaded, Sniper: Legacy, Sniper: Homeland Security and Sniper: Assassin’s End on Netflix. There are four films of a franchise, which already contains nine parts. We’ll tell you where to see the rest:

The “Sniper” franchise is one of the highest-grossing franchises in home cinema and has existed since 1993. At that time, “Sniper – The Sharpshooter” was still made as a theatrical film, but was released direct to video in Germany. However, the unabridged VHS release was indexed in this country and this indexation was only lifted in 2017 (!). The original has now even been released in its entirety for 16 years and older. You can buy and watch “Sniper – The Sharpshooter” on Amazon Prime Video as VoD:

The lead role in “Sniper” is played by Tom Berenger, who also starred as Thomas Beckett in the Netflix hit “Sniper: Assassin’s End‘ also had a supporting role as the main character’s father.

“Sniper” solves the mystery of the missing finger

By the way, in the very first part “Sniper” you will already find out why Beckett Senior is missing his trigger finger, who again plays an important role in “Assassin’s End”. In the first “Sniper” movie, Beckett is captured and tortured when he and his young partner Richard Miller (Billy Zane) are sent on a mission to South America.

The direct-to-video series started with “Sniper 2”.

It wasn’t until nearly a decade later that “Sniper 2” came about, when people were looking for cheap supplies for the home theater market, which was still thriving at the time, and realized that “Sniper” was very popular there. As you know, financing cheap action movies in the 90’s and early 2000’s was easier than ever because these titles were already being refinanced by simply selling them to the video stores, where there was a constant demand from customers. You can stream the sequel with a subscription to WOW:

will again Tom Berenger Sent on a covert mission as Thomas Beckett to take out a general in Kosovo on behalf of the CIA. But there he and his allies are soon pursued by overwhelming forces.

“Sniper 3”: provisional end of the trilogy

With “Sniper 3” two years later, the actual trilogy seemed complete. When Beckett retires, he discovers that his once best friend didn’t die in Vietnam after all, he now runs a drug empire and commands an army of child soldiers, the elite sniper goes to Asia. The third part is also only available as a subscription to WOW:

“Sniper: Reloaded”: The first adventure with Brandon Beckett

ChadMichaelCollins debuts as Brandon Beckett with “Sniper: Reloaded” – perhaps the chronological first of the four films on Netflix. Eventually, “Sniper: Assassin’s End” became a huge hit there, becoming the series’ first streaming hit. Perhaps the assumption was that audiences would want to see more of Collins than Beckett Junior and release only those parts and not the Berenger trilogy before that.

After all, “Sniper: Reloaded” is almost like a reboot, at least a new beginning: more than seven years after the provisional end of the saga, the franchise was revived with this film without Tom Berenger as Thomas Beckett and the idea was born that his son would become the center of a new story.

He is working for the UN in Congo when a mysterious sniper takes out his team. Driven by revenge, he forms an alliance with his father’s former partner (one of many reunions with Billy Zaan from the very first movie).

“Sniper: Legacy”: the meeting between father and son

Beckett Jr. was so well received that it was soon decided to follow suit with a legacy sequel that would also bring back the original hero – aptly titled “Snipers: Legacy“.

Here, Brandon Beckett believes his father was killed in an attack and swears revenge. But he soon finds out that someone is manipulating and using him. Fortunately, daddy is still alive and together you shoot your way free. This part also introduces “24” President Dennis Haysbert as a mysterious colonel, who later becomes important again.

As I said, you can stream “Sniper: Legacy” on Netflix.

“Sniper: Ghost Shooter”: Shooting in Eastern Europe

In Sniper: Ghost Shooter you can see that the heyday of video stores is long gone. In any case, the films are often shot in Eastern Europe for cost reasons, so the story is immediately moved there. Beckett Junior must protect a gas pipeline in Georgia from terrorists. Tom Berenger probably didn’t feel like doing anything better and that suits him again Billy Zaan as Richard Miller aside. Also present: Dennis Haysbert as Colonel.

For some unknown reason, Sniper: Ghost Shooter is missing from Netflix. It is not currently available on any other streaming plan. You can get it as VoD on Amazon Prime Video:

“Sniper: Homeland Security”: The first time in a threesome

Sharpshooter: Homeland Securitya.k.a. Sniper: Ultimate Kill (it is the first and only film in the series to be subtitled differently in Germany) combines for the first and only time all three formative faces of the series in one filmbecause Brandon Beckett, father Thomas Beckett and his former right-hand man Richard Miller must unearth a brutal drug cartel.

You can then stream “Sniper: Homeland Security” again on Netflix.

“Sniper: Assassin’s End”: The streaming hit

And that brings us to”Sniper: Assassin’s End‘, which is arguably responsible for the latest Netflix release in the series. He finally became a huge success there and topped the streaming charts in the summer of 2022. The film follows how Brandon Beckett is suspected of being a murderer and seeks refuge with his father to prove his innocence.

It is, incidentally, despite a trite story and not always convincing cast with some visual ideas, brutal kills and an interesting opponent one of the best parts of the generally pretty mediocre action series. But it’s not the end yet…

“Sniper: Rogue Mission”: probably coming soon to Netflix

In the “Assassin’s End” finale, a sequel is already being teased when Agent Zero (Ryan Robbins) offers assassin Lady Death (Sayaka Akimoto) a second chance. We see the duo back in Sniper: Rogue Mission. But of course, Chad Michael Collins is back as Brandon Beckett. And as indicated earlier in this text, there is also a reunion with Dennis Haysbert as the colonel (Tom Berenger is not present, however).

Brandon Beckett now has a desk job at an investigative firm, but when his superiors forbid him from taking down a human trafficking gang, he teams up with Zero and Lady Death to seek justice on his own. You can stream the sequelSniper: rogue missionSo far only available as a subscription to WOW:

We assume that “Sniper: Rogue Mission” will end up on Netflix sooner or later, but that could be a while yet. Then you can prepare yourself for change again: Because someone came up with the idea: After eight films, let’s make an action comedy about human trafficking and forced prostitution! There are many strange secondary characters and the action is also much less rough than in the predecessor, almost a bit exaggerated, even with a wink at times.

“Sniper 10” should also come

At the end of “Sniper: Rogue Mission” a tenth part is also alluded to, which main actor Chad Michael Collins already announced in an interview. At the time, however, he spoke of shooting set to begin in the fall of 2022. We have not received any updates since then and the project does not seem to be included at this time.
