Pedro Pascal is set to star in one of next year’s most anticipated horror films

2022 was certainly not a year poor in horror hype. In addition to “Terrifier 2” and “The Sadness”, “Barbarian” was also released here (directly on Disney+ in this country). Zach Cregger’s directorial debut caused quite a stir, especially in the United States. Not only because the film was able to make back ten times its relatively modest budget ($4.5 million), but also because it turned out very, very well. In the official FILMSTARTS review, “Barbarian” received an impressive 4 out of 5 possible stars.

Now Zach Cregger is already working on his next work, which will be called “Weapons”. What this is about is not yet clear, but it is said to be another horror movie. Whether Cregger will go on a similar roller coaster ride of what-the-fuck moments with “Weapons” as he did with “Barbarian” remains to be seen. It should be (at least) a year before we see the much-anticipated shocker.

The protagonist leaves you wanting more

In any case, “Weapons” is one of the most anticipated horror movies of the near future. Here Zech Cregger must prove whether he is able to consistently deliver high-quality work or whether he will enter the genre’s eternal hunting ground with “Barbarian” as a one-hit wonder. The filmmaker, who is also responsible for the screenplay of “Weapons”, has at least found a protagonist who further fuels the anticipation: Pedro Pascal.

There is hardly a star who is currently as popular (and likeable) as Pedro Pascal. Mainly due to the “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian”, the HBO video game adaptation “The Last Of Us” and of course his performance as Oberyn Martell in “Game Of Thrones”, Pascal is now well known to everyone.
