From hyped to cancelled: Cole Sprouse’s (alleged) demise

In mid-March, Cole Sprouse was a guest on Alexandra Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast. In it, the ‘Zack & Cody’ star talked about his past and how he was (or lay) in front of the camera as a baby. Excerpts from the interview went viral on TikTok and the 30-year-old has been literally torn apart on social media ever since. Why is that surprising? Cole Sprouse has been in diaper commercials since he was a baby with his twin brother, Dylan. As soon as he could talk, he played Ross Geller’s son on Friends, and at the age of 12, the twins got their own Disney show, Hotel Zack & Cody. Despite their success, the two studied and also did not do any acting for a while. Since 2017, Cole Sprouse has played one of the main roles in the Netflix series “Riverdale”.

Cole and his brother established themselves as the funny twins during their time at the Hotel Zack & Cody. Adding to the good looks as the two grew up was the fact that they both seemed to have something on their minds too. When Cole started expressing himself through photography, he became an idol on the blogging platform Tumblr. Some images of the actor smoking a cigarette went viral on the app and he became the epitome of the “Tumblr Boy”. Although Cole was not active as an actor at the time, these pictures helped him to become immensely popular.

In 2017, Cole landed the role of Jughead in Archie Comics’ film adaptation of Riverdale. The series became a huge hit and attracted viewers (88% on Rotten Tomato). But this didn’t last long. According to many critics, the series “went off the rails” after the first season and became one of the “worst series in existence today”. The 6th season of the series still holds a 37% audience rating.

Cole kept his love life to himself throughout his teenage years and into his early twenties. He then met Lili Reinhardt while filming “Riverdale” and the two became the fans’ dream couple. After three years, however, the two surprisingly broke up. To this day, however, they continue to stand side-by-side in front of the camera for “Riverdale”.

The split between the two actors was the first blot on Cole’s clean slate. When he started dating model Ari Fournier a few months later, it already caused angry fans. Because: Ari and Lili look alike. A lot of.

The waves caused by the love drama smoothed out after a while. But then came the aforementioned podcast hit: Cole’s appearance on “Call her Daddy” in March. A podcast that specializes in learning celebrity secrets firsthand.

As a result, Cole also spoke about his love life, among other things. In doing so, he revealed that he has been betrayed emotionally in almost all of his relationships and also physically in one. But maybe he just fell victim to the negative TikTok hype. Because in the podcast ‘The diary of a CEO’ he told almost exactly the same stories as in ‘Call her Daddy’ and the reactions were extremely positive.

So the final chapter in Cole’s career may not have been written yet.
