“The Big Bang Theory”: Big reveal raises new questions – will “Young Sheldon” provide the answers?

The Big Bang Theory was one of the most popular TV series of the 2010s, so it’s no surprise that Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Co. continue to be a topic years after the end of the celebrated sitcom. Not only was a brand new “Big Bang Theory” series recently announced, but the prequel “Young Sheldon” is still running extremely successfully. The prequel is already in its sixth season – and it’s given brand new insights into Sheldon and Amy’s future. In the 16th episode of the current sixth season, adult Sheldon dropped a bombshell as the narrator: In the episode “A New Weather Girl and Stay-At-Home Coddler”, Sheldon now reveals that he and Amy not only have one son – named Leonard Cooper – but several children as well. In Germany, the episode is currently only available in its original English version as a purchase or rental VOD on streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime Video. “Young Sheldon” has always not only explained much about the person of Sheldon Cooper and his childhood, but also continues to expand the “Big Bang” universe with new information from the future time level.
