“House Of The Dragon” Season 4: Showrunner Reveals Surprising Future Plans For New “Game Of Thrones” Series

“House Of The Dragon” is getting a second season, it was announced shortly after the premiere of the first episode of season 1. In an in-depth conversation with the film site However, “House Of The Dragon” showrunner Ryan J. Condal now explained that the huge success of the prehistoric “Game Of Thrones” was not always obvious and that the American broadcaster HBO even wanted to mothball the planned project before Condal. at the request of “GoT”, creator George RR Martin came on board.

You can read the full story of House Of The Dragon, from the initial plans, through the crisis and rescue by Condal, to the stunning premiere and season 2 announcement on read. Let’s focus here on Condal’s statements about Season 2 of House Of The Dragon. Condal stated:

“The second season is about the kids who we only saw for a few episodes at the end of the first season and who have now grown into young adults. They have dragons and are old enough to ride them and fight, they have their own and they want to go out and defend their family’s claim to the throne.”

Focus on young characters

Two things are particularly interesting about this statement: First of all, it looks like House Of The Dragon Season 2 won’t be all that much about the older and more prominent charactersso Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) or Daemon (Matt Smith) on one side and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) or Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) on the other side of the Targaryen Civil War.

And secondly, some of the young characters that should be the focus of season 2 could be recast againAfter all, Ryan Condal explicitly says they “grew into young adults.” However, the time that has elapsed between the shooting of season 1 and season 2 can also mean that the actors in question have naturally grown taller and older. After all, that’s two years.

“More than two seasons” planned

And after the second season, which is currently being filmed? According to Condal, we’re getting “more than two” additional seasons of House Of The Dragon, which is consistent with previous reports. Apparently HBO is currently planning four seasons of “House Of The Dragon”. But that is not entirely certain, because Condal also opposite emphasized again:

“One of the things we’re talking about right now is how do we end the series in a way that doesn’t feel abrupt but doesn’t feel stretched out either?”

House Of The Dragon Season 2 is likely to release sometime in 2024 at HBO (and in Germany at Sky and WOW). Recently the first new cast members were announced:
