The Zurich “Bar am Wasser” is the Swiss Bar of the Year 2023, the Hotel Bar of the Year in the German-speaking countries is the Zurich “Widder Bar”. You also have the “bar menu of the year”, as it was said at the Mixology Bar Awards on Sunday evening in Berlin.
True to its name, the award-winning Swiss bar is located right on the Limmat, not far from where it flows into Lake Zurich.
The “Wax On” in Berlin was named “New Bar of the Year” (with emphasis on “new”). “Bar of the Year” was – after 2019 for the second time – the “Velvet”, which is also located in the Berlin district of Neukölln.
Since 2007, the trade journal “Mixology” has been awarding its industry awards. For Austria, the Vienna “Truth & Dare” was named “Bar of the Year”.
“Host of the Year” was Sven Riebel from the Frankfurt bar “The Tiny Cup” right on the Mainufer, “Newcomer of the Year” was bartender Rose-Manon Baux from “Wax On” in Berlin.
Restaurant “Kink” in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg won in the categories “Restaurant-Bar of the Year” and “Bar Team of the Year”. “Schumann’s” in Munich was honored as “Bar Icon of the Year”. (sda/dpa)
