“Bad Boys 4” recast the original role – she played in all 3 parts so far

When the two opposing, yet so good friends, cops Marcus (Martin Lawrence) and Mike (Will Smith) clean up the crime again in “Bad Boys 4”, a personality will change at their side. Because so far, Marcus’ wife, Theresa, has been played by the actress Theresa Randle. She played the role in Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2 and Bad Boys For Life. In “Bad Boys 4” she is no longer there. As is now known replaces the one known from the series “Empire”. Tasha Smith the colleague and takes on the role of Theresa Burnett.

No reasons for the lineup change were announced. Theresa Randle had actually retired from acting. “Bad Boys For Life” was a comeback after a ten-year hiatus. It’s entirely possible that it was only planned as a one-off at the time. With the franchise still going strong, Randle might not feel like coming back again and again (and it might not be so easy with other commitments, either).

But those responsible need the figure. Because even though Marcus’ wife is just a supporting character, she is very important to the overall story and the portrayal of the contrasts between the two protagonists.

“Bad Boys 4” – with many friends probably in theaters in 2024

The recordings for Bad Boys 4 have just started. In addition to Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, some old acquaintances of the immediate predecessor also return. Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Charles Melton are back on board as the team from the AMMO unit now led by Marcus and Mike. Just like in “Bad Boys For Life”, Paola Núñez plays the superior of the often unconventional acting police duo.

Joining the cast alongside Tasha Smith are Eric Dane and Fantastic Four star Ioan Gruffudd. Dane, known from the hit series “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Euphoria”, would play the villain. Again directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who previously directed Bad Boys For Life.
