“The Crown”: This is what Kate Middleton and Prince William look like in season 6 of the Netflix series

Over the five seasons of The Crown on Netflix, we’ve seen quite a few royals come and go — literally. One of the most dazzling figures of the British royal family has been here since Season 4: Diana Spencer, later wife and ex-wife of Prince Charles. While she was played by Emma Corrin (“My Policeman”) in the fourth season, Elizabeth Debicki (“Tenet”) took over this role in the fifth season – and came pretty damn close visually to the original Princess of Hearts.

But even in the fictional world of Netflix’s “The Crown”, time moves on and in the sixth and final season of the successful series, it is mainly the children of Diana and Charles, i.e. the grandchildren of the Queen (again by von Imelda in season 6 Staunton) that fans are eagerly awaiting. We already know the cast for the new generation of royals – now there are the first photos from the set!

In the real world, not a day goes by that the British royal family doesn’t post a photo (usually via Twitter) of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. The royal couple is currently at least as important as Prince Charles, who will be crowned king in a few weeks. In the sixth season of The Crown, we witness the beginning of William and Kate’s relationship – at least the fictional version of it.

The actor Ed McVey will play Prince William, who attended St. Andrews University in Scotland in the early 2000s. There he met his future wife Kate Middleton played by Mega Bellamywho also studies at the university. The sixth season of The Crown will include that first meeting and the relationship that develops (and is said to be quite tumultuous).

Both McVey and Meg Bellamy are true newcomers. McVey made his first acting experiences on the London stages and Bellamy applied for the role of Kate with a casting video – and was selected. We can see how well the actors and actresses do their job in the first ‘The Crown’ trailer.

This is what the 6th season of “The Crown” will be like

The sixth season of “The Crown” is of course not only about William and Kate, but also – among others – about Queen Elizabeth II, her husband Prince Philip (Jonathan Pryce), Prince Charles (Dominic West) and Princess Diana (again played by Debiki). The creators of the series have already announced that the tragic death of Diana in particular will play a central role in the series’ final season – and has caused quite a stir…

It is not yet known when season 6 of “The Crown” will be on Netflix. We expect the series finale to air in late 2023.
