The best science fiction film of recent years will have a sequel in 2023: the first images of “Dune 2” are here

We just reported that a trailer for the sci-fi sequel “Dune 2” has sparked enthusiasm among visitors to the currently held CinemaCon cinema show. Unfortunately, these first moving images have not yet been published online. “Dune 2” connects seamlessly with the first part, with which only the first half of the first part of Frank Herbert’s cycle of novels “Dune” was filmed. Paul has allied himself with the native Fremen on the desert planet of Arrakis and, with their support, seeks vengeance against Baron Harkonnen and the other conspirators who destroyed his family.

Denis Villeneuve already promised that “Dune 2” will be an action-packed, epic war film in which everything must be different and even more spectacular and bombastic than in the overwhelming predecessor (for us the best film of 2021). Whether he can actually live up to this promise, we will know in more than half a year: “Dune: part two“ begins in German cinemas on November 2, 2023.
