Alien mastermind Ridley Scott strikes again, producing another Alien movie, directed by Fede Alvarez. And that is no longer a gray theory, but reality since a few weeks: The as yet untitled “Alien” movie is actually being shot. And even if we don’t get a scene shot at such an early stage, Alvarez has now posted at least the first official photo from the shoot — and is celebrating what’s known as Alien Day.
The photo features a clapperboard with the greeting “Happy Alien Day” – and an iconic facehugger. Fans of “Alien” should immediately get goosebumps. After all, one hopes for nothing less than a real sci-fi horror highlight, because with Ridley Scott not only is the “Alien” creator himself on board, but also with Fede Alvarez, a man who is very good at strongly staged horror knows – which he proved with the movies “Evil Dead” and “Don’t Breathe”.
What is Alien Day?
Today, April 26, a lot of “alien” content and messages are posted online with the hashtag #AlienDay. Why actually? The reason why this particular day became something of a holiday for fans of the “Alien” franchise is the name of the moon on which the “alien‘ series in which Xenomorphs are discovered first: LV-426. In the US date format, the month is given before the day, so 426 results in the date 4/26. This is April 26.
What is the new ‘Alien’ movie about?

Cailee Spaeny, best known for Pacific Rim: Uprising and Bad Times At The El Royale, will star. Other actors on board include Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. The name “Alien: Romulus” has been circulating as a working title for the film, although it may not be the final title.
The very first plot details are still very vague: it is about a group of young people who are confronted on a distant world with the most terrible life form in the universe. Well, if that doesn’t sound like a very classic “Alien” movie…
